Welcome back to my blog my sweet little lambs~
This week, I reviewed several of my classmates’ blogs to get some inspiration for my own writing. I was highly impressed and inspired by a lot of roommates, but there were two that stood out to me. The first was Jennifer Steward’s blog, Bluejay Musings, which can be found at: https://bluejaymusingsblog.wordpress.com/
I was really impressed by the design of Jen’s blog, and I loved her use of colors and pictures throughout every single post and page. Her home page is neatly divided into squares which display all her posts, complete with colorful pictures to further illustrate her points. I love that you can read through the entirety of all her blog posts, as well as see the accompanying pictures, on one page, as it erases the annoying need to click through page after page to see her next post, and makes it easy to skim for what you want to read, as well as draws your eye downward, so that you never want to stop reading. Her blog almost reminds me of a tumblr page, and takes me down a nostalgic rabbit hole of reading similar to the hours I spent scrolling through tumblr blogs in high school. Her posts are also the perfect length for a quick, but thorough read that doesn’t exhaust you, and instead encourages you to read the next post, and the next and the next. I thoroughly enjoyed reading her opinions on game playthroughs and browsing through the colorful pictures she chose to illustrate her ideas.
The second blog that really inspired me was Morgan LaMonica’s blog, Climbing the Bookcase, which you can peruse at: https://melamonica98.wixsite.com/climbingthebookcase
First of all, I find Morgan’s title, much like the rest of her blog, incredibly creative. Her blog is easy to navigate with a search bar at the top that can lead you to her class assignments, her about me page, her personal writing, and a plug for her art as well as a story series she is working on. I love that Morgan’s blog is chock-full of stuff to look at and explore. Whether it’s her class assignments, blog posts, her fiction, or her poetry, she gives her reader a variety of content to enjoy and look forward to. I love that she broadcasts her talents and future works, which inspires me to broadcast more of my own personal work and future endeavors. Her blog is also very bright; it is pleasant to look at and browse through, which further encourages me to keep scrolling and exploring her blog.
Both of the blogs have inspired me to add more color and content to my blog, to give my own readers a richer experience that encourages them to come back for more.
Until next week~
